Support Groups

The goal of the Breast Cancer Support Group is to help breast cancer survivors live a full and healthy life.  This support group provides education and emotional and psychosocial support for one another on the shared journey from diagnosis to healing and will feature a guest speaker on a specific topic as it relates to breast cancer. New members are always welcome. This group is co-facilitated by a Licensed Social Worker and an Oncology Nurse Navigator and is a joint program between Mt. Carmel and Haven of Hope. The group meets every other month at the Haven of Hope, light meal provided.

Central Ohio Urology Group urologists attend each meeting to present information regarding various aspects of this disease such as side effects from hormone therapy and radiation treatment, erectile dysfunction, urinary incontinence, nutrition, depression and prostate cancer treatment options after radiation and hormone therapy.

Living with a diagnosis of cancer is an ongoing process. The goal of the “Living with Cancer” support group is to address survivorship challenges in helping cancer survivors live a full and healthy life. This group provides educational, emotional, and psychosocial support for one another on the shared journey of a cancer diagnosis and is open to ALL cancer survivors, whether newly diagnosed, in treatment, or years beyond.

This group is co-facilitated by a Licensed Social Worker and meets every other month at Haven of Hope. A light meal is provided.

The GYN Support Group is for all women coping with a diagnosis of ovarian, uterine or cervical cancer.  Its aim is to provide a safe and welcoming environment to educate and provide emotional and psychosocial support for one another on the shared journey from diagnosis to healing and is open to all gyn survivors.  This group is co-facilitated by a Zangmeister Licensed Social Worker and Registered Nurse. The GYN Support Group is held monthly at Haven of Hope, light meal provided.
